In the true spirit of regional integration, we are thrilled to announce that UWI Carnival back! This years staging is under the theme ‘The Ethereal Experience’ and is set to take place from March 16 to March 19, 2023, for four days of non-stop fun, excitement, and guaranteed to create memories that will last a life time
The fantastic line up of events, kicks off with the sensational UWI Carnival Launch party - ‘Soca Orbit,’ a high-energy extravaganza that will feature a star-studded lineup of Jamaicas top DJs, creating a musical landscape that will set the tone for a unforgettable weekend of events.
As the night sky rises, the highly anticipated UWI Carnival J'vouert - ‘Aurora Night’ will transform the UWI Mona Sand Pit, illuminated by an array of colourful lights that promises a magical, dreamlike atmosphere. Expect to witness high energy performances, and a sea of patrons decorated with paint and powder, coming together in delightful harmony.
Next, the Carnival Ring Road - ‘The Milky Way’ takes over, a parade of spectacular proportions, where you'll witness the creative genius of our local designers, culminating in an explosion of colour, and sound. The event will feature industry leading musical presentations and pure non-stop Carnival energy.
The newly added, “Ring Road D’AfterMas," is a reimagined approach to the Ring Road after party that will take the festivities to the next level. Get ready for an out-of-this-world experience, with a spectacular entertainment package designed to create a gravity defying experience.
The super fete will feature a mega foam pit, mist, pyro technics, food and sponsor village, and debut performances from popular artistes Valiant and Stalk Ashley. With safety and security as a top priority, D’AfterMas boasts world class security features, meticulously planned by event partners Campus Elite Jamaica, to ensure a safe and premium event experience like never before.
Finally, the event culminates with the Carnival Beach Party, where you can party in the sun, sand, and with a breathtaking view of the sea. Expect to dance to the best Soca, Reggae, Dancehall, and Afrobeat tracks while soaking up the beautiful Jamaican sunshine on the shores of Sugarman’s Beach.
